Custom Registration in UAE​

In case a company wishes to import or export goods into or from Dubai, it needs to be register with Dubai Customs and obtain a Customs Client Code for the clearing of goods. In order to be granted the Customs Client Code by Dubai Customs, the company must have been duly incorporated in the UAE and have a relevant business license.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S)

A Custom Import Code is a Code which is Allowed by UAE Custom department to a Business Entity to Import and Export Shipment from Rest of the World or From Freezone to Dubai Mainland. Any Company who has Valid Import Code can Import or Export Within Dubai. Usually, Customs Import Code is approved by the Client Relation Section in Dubai Customs.
 

Following information and documents are required:

  • E-mail ID of the company or the authorized person.
  • Mobile number of the authorized person.
  • Copy of valid trade license.
  • Passport copy of the authorized person.
  • Emirates ID copy of the authorized person.
  • Undertaking letter on companies letter head. (We will provide the template).

Import export code will be valid for one year from the date of registration.The business code will be suspended, if it is not renewed within 60 days from its expiry date.

Any UAE trading company with valid license can apply for Customs/Import-Export Code.

Renewal application need to submit with valid trade license and undertaking letter. The renewal fees of Customs/Import-Export Code is only AED 25.

Amendment application need to submit with the prof of amendment such as amended trade license. No fees are required for amendment unless there is a request for adding a new business type for which government fees is AED 120.
